Our high-quality, highly protective disposable surgical respirators and durable antimicrobial face masks are now available in our online store.
High-quality durable antimicrobial face masks and disposable surgical respirators with the highest level of protection (FFP3) are now available in our online store.
In our online store, you will find high-quality protective masks for professional use in various situations. We sell disposable FFP2 and FFP3 respirators and multipurpose microfibre face masks that we have designed in cooperation with hygiene nurses and a team of professionals at Pihlajalinna, a Finnish company providing healthcare and social welfare services.
What does high-level protection mean?
- Highest-level protection means that the respirator protects its user from infections.
- Face masks protect other people, such as elderly people at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, who belong to risk groups.
Thanks to their metallic nose parts, our protective masks always fit snugly on the face.
Our disposable surgical respirator with the highest level of protection fits snugly but comfortably around the mouth and nose.
When used properly, a respirator protects against the coronavirus
Respirators are classified into three protection categories. The highest-quality respirators provide good protection against harmful airborne microbes.
- The lowest level of protection, FFP1, mainly offers protection against visible particles, such as dust.
- When used properly, an FFP2 (N95) respirator offers effective protection even against the smallest particles, such as bacteria and various viruses, including the coronavirus. An FFP2 respirator filters at least 94% of airborne contaminants.
- Respirators with the highest level of protection, FFP3 (N100), filter at least 99% of airborne contaminants. FFP3 respirators are used in operating theatres, for example. The protection levels of the surgical respirators available in our online store are high: FFP2 and FFP3.
Respirators with the highest level of protection (FFP2 and FFP3) are always single-use. They provide good protection against respiratory coronavirus infection. For the best protection, it is important that the respirator is worn in accordance with the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Remember to wear a respirator properly
A respirator must be placed on the face carefully, because any air leaks will significantly affect the protection level. The tightness of the respirator can be tested as follows: the user presses the nose part firmly into place and takes a deep breath. This makes it easy to detect whether any air is passing between the face and the edges of the respirator.
A respirator alone will not protect against infections if hand hygiene is not ensured. Hands must be washed or disinfected before a clean respirator is put on. The disposable respirator is removed by grasping the fastening straps behind the head or the rubber bands behind the ears, after which it is discarded and the user must wash their hands again.
When used properly, a disposable surgical FFP2 respirator protects its user effectively against the coronavirus.
A face mask reduces hand-to-face contact and protects others
A face mask protects others if the user has been infected by the coronavirus.
A face mask also prevents the user from touching their face. This is important, because the coronavirus spreads easily if a person touches their face after touching a contaminated surface. In other words, the face mask also plays an important role in reminding the user not to touch their face.
Our face masks are durable, meaning that they can be washed and worn again.
The protection level provided by a durable face mask is equal to that of healthcare work clothes. Its dense and flexible two-ply microfibre material is not easily permeable to droplets, because the antimicrobial technology in the Medanta Microfiber fabric forms a film on the surface of the mask and therefore prevents microbial growth.
It is important that a face mask is replaced with a clean one after each use and is washed properly.
After each use, an antimicrobial mask is disinfected by washing it at 72–90 degrees, which makes it microbiologically clean. You can wash the mask in your washing machine at home. The material also withstands repeated industrial washing and thermal disinfection well.
A face mask alone is not enough: it is also important to ensure good hand hygiene and carefully follow the instructions provided by the authorities related to the coronavirus.
